Fully and properly completed notary applications will be sent to the Pennsylvania Department of State within two (2) business days of receipt except where the renewal/reappointment date is further out than 3 months; e.g. if your renewal/reappointment date is December and you send the application to us in June, your application will be processed three months prior to your renewal/reappointment date; i.e. September in this instance.  In either case you will be notified by us via U.S. Mail as to the status of your notary application within one week of our receipt. 

Renewal/Reappointment applications that are submitted 3 months in advance of the notary’s current notary expiration date will be processed within 2 business days of receipt by Atlantic Bonding Company, Inc. and you will be notified as to the status of your notary application via U.S. Mail within one week of our receipt.

Requirements to become a Pennsylvania Notary Public:

1. Over the Age of 18;

2. A resident of Pennsylvania or Employed within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

 

3. You must participate in a 3 hour notary education course.  Atlantic Bonding includes this course in our notary public “Package A” and “Package B” if you will access www.pacourse.net.  You must read through each section, take the “Self-Test”, print out the Answer Sheet from the Self-Test and go back to the bottom of the first page of the website and print out your Certificate of Completion by typing in your name (must match what you’re putting on the application) and the date you completed the course, click “Submit” and up will pop your required Certificate which you then print out and sign as the Notary Applicant (signature not printed name) and date it.  We will sign as “Instructor” when we receive it from you.

 

If you are not purchasing a “Package” you may still utilize this course at a fee of $29.95.  You may take the course and fax us the Answer Sheet and the Certificate of Completion to 954.941.0412 along with credit card information OR you may mail us with a check payable to Atlantic Bonding Company, Inc. Please note any renewal/reappointment application that is forwarded to us with less than 2 months lead time; i.e. your current notary commission expires July 31, 2010 and we receive it June 30, 2010, is subject to perhaps not being renewed with the same renewal/reappointment date; i.e. July 31, 2014, as the State requests to have renewal/reappointment applications in their office 2 months prior to the current notary expiration date.  This does not mean that you won’t be able to renew your notary it just means that you may not have the same date as your current/previous commission expiration date. 

The State allows themselves up to six (6) weeks to appoint you once they have received your properly completed notary application whether you are a first time applicant or a renewal/reappointment applicant.
